Ribbing

Thanks for your kind compliments on my not-quite-done sweater. It is SUCH a relief to have it so close to completion. I've enjoyed making it, but I was seriously starting to think it was never going to be finished.

So--the Cranberry zipper. I entirely agree.

Which leaves me with one more decision. Picking a ribbon to line the zipper with. You know, to sew on the inside to cover the zipper tape, like Grumperina did. I ordered an assortment of ribbons from J.Caroline, which came today.

I've already got this narrowed down to my two favorites, but I'm not going to tell you which two they are--I want YOUR opinion:

Burgundy Grosgrain.

Dot Jacquard in pink/brown.

Burgundy Ribbon Jacquard.

Plum/Pink/Burgundy Jacquard Waves.

What do you think??

Ideally--and assuming I bought enough--I'd like to go all the way up the front edge, around the inside of the hood and back down the other side . . . I just hadn't thought about the hood when I ordered the ribbons, so . . . I won't know if I have enough until I try it!

I like the last ribbon, the Plum/Pink/Burgundy Jacquard Waves. It's hard to tell if it would be too busy with the cables, though. If it is, I like the plain burgundy grosgrain.

I think the Burgandy Ribbon Jacquard looks like it would suit the sweater the best - the swirls on it go along with the cables very well.

I'm a sucker for polka dots so my first vote goes to the Dot Jaquard and second to the Burgundy Ribbon Jacquard. I like the idea of the ribbon going around the whole inside edge and hood. Hope there's enough ribbon.

The Burgundy Ribbon Jacquard is my favourite as it reminds me of the cables and yet it is not "too busy" to take away from the wonderful knitting you did on the sweater.
Hope it all works out, you have reminded me I want to knit this sweater but I put it way down on the list..now it is closer to the top!! :)

I have to go with the Burgundy Ribbon Jacquard. I know NOTHING about these things, you understand, but that looks nicest with the sweater, IMO. But . . . any of them would look great. Beautiful sweater!

Burgundy Ribbon Jacquard is my favorite. It echoes the cables and the color compliments the sweater. Your sweater is gorgeous. I love purply plumy colors.

My favorite is the last one (Plum/Pink/Burgundy Jacquard Waves)because it seems the most "fun". I also like the Burgundy Ribbon Jacquard for a more sophisticated look.
